ELECTION: DID GOD CHOOSE ME, OR DID I CHOOSE HIM?

Did God elect me before the foundation of the world, based upon His fore-knowledge of my faith and/or works, Or upon His good pleasure, without consideration of my faith or works? Have at it!

The impotent man had been willing to get up for many years, but was unable until Christ enabled him. Sinners are neither willing or able until enabled by the Spirit of God. Peace to you Brother. Jack

Wow, this thread moves fast. Yes. Christ did it. Christ enabled the impotent man to get up. But Christ did so only on the condition that the impotent man willed it. I am saved, not by faith but by God. But he will only save me if I will be saved.

And that statement—whoever thirsts, come and drink—I do take as a pretty strong statement that the invitation is open to all, and that we have the option to come (or not) according to our own free will.

But is hearing a part of free will?

Hearing has little to do with will unless we're being stubborn then it has everything to do with it.

Rey,
It gets sticky when we see that it was AFTER Judas ate the bread that Jesus handed him that Satan entered him. (run on sentence anyone?)

It simply says that this group labeled The Called are also labeled to having an End Destiny which results in Being Conformed to the Image of the Son.

I'm not sure if I am on the same page as you on this - so if we have to respond to the call - but everyone who is called has an "End Destiny which results in Being Conformed to the Image of the Son." is there any choice then for those who are called?

God doesn't say that some of the people who are called - He says, "those who are called"

Those who are Justified by Faith are have no choice: they will be conformed into the image of the Son.

Then why does Jesus cast out a 'mute and deaf spirit?' Is being possessed equate to being stubborn?

Rey, don't let her intimidate you with all that grammatical trash talk!

Run on sentence, I know what them is!

Yeah, Rey. You’re not gonna be pushed around by a girl are you?

A run on sentence is when they put you in jail and forget where they hid the key. Right?

In that context Hearing had little to do with the will. She was demon possessed. But in Isaiah, it's stubborn people. In that case, its all about being hard hearted.

I have a feeling Raquel could reach through the internets with a run-on sentencii and punch me in the neck.

that's why I chose that instead of Isaiah. (laughing)

But if we're going with hard hearted, there's Isaiah 6:8-10.
That's no good.
