The Best. Song. Ever.

Right now I'm rocking with some White Stripes Seven Nation Army. An hour ago I was listening to one of the best albums ever: U2's Joshua Tree. Two hours ago I was rocking some Counting Crows. This morning I had Hendricks going followed quickly by Michael Jackon's Thriller album. It has led me to this moment, this pinnacle of theological conundrums:

What is The Best Song Ever?

Please, no overly pious answers like "The Song of the Lamb that was slain" or "The New Song" or "The Song of Moses" unless you really really mean it and rock out with it on your iPod (original or clone)

Best Jazz? Best Rock? Best CCM? (or is that last one an oxymoron?) All these different categories are so different that it would be hard to pick "the best".

I've seen some pretty good stuff on American Idol. When Katherine McFee sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow, that was pretty moving. And I loved it when David Cook did that number from Phantom. I guess you can tell I'm more into ballads than rock bands.; ▶ Reply to This

Not because it was so moving but rather I couldn't believe that I just spent $75 to see one of the greatest guitar players ever and this is what he was closing with.

I would have to vote for The Weight or Arcadian Driftwood by the Band or Springsteen's Thunder Road for greatest song ever.; ▶ Reply to This
