If God's grace is irresistible then why do we (all of humanity) resist on a daily basis?

So I wonder who won this debate?

Raquel, We've never done that. I've started a Practical Ideas thread for Halloween over on the Church Calender Group.

How about you stop by and tell us how its done.

Rey, you're like that masked Magician dude who gives up all the secrets. I'm put out.

Are we going to start hurling FU bombs also??

How is that irenic?

Rey; this debate goes hand-in-hand with the Free-will debate. If one is ever settled, which I don't expect, then both will be settled, along with the denial or minimalizing of Total depravity! They all hold together!

In that case, I'll declare myself the Winner. By the fact of my irresistible charm and grace.

I'm not sure that was one of the options.

You may need to add in "The Guy Who talks about types-of-arguments In Order To Crush the Topic At Hand." Although that's a really long title. Maybe TGWTATOAIOTCTTAH?

Carl; There are Theologions on all sides of every issue! You have to be careful, and only listen to the ones who are correct, Like I do! Heh! Heh! The Geezer

A theologian told me it was so!

A theologian said it, I believe it, that settles it?

Cool! :-)

Rey; Logic can only take us so far, then faith needed. God's message has made foolish the wisdom of this world. Even believers have limited and false logic, still holding to the world's wisdom. That's why believers are debating, here! We are commanded to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord. Still growing and trying to bring others to our understanding, which we believe to be correct.
However, there are also wolves in sheep's clothing, here, on theologica, trying to confuse and destroy our faith.
They don't support any Biblical truth, they only attack Biblical truth. I'm not referring to honest believers. (of course, I don't know which is which, but I have my suspicions) Heh! Heh! The Geezer

Amen.

Kerygma, yeah I wouldn't say that other doctrines are good because they're slightly unprovable (although that would be part of it) I'm saying that other doctrines are open to examination. The possibility of refutation exists if the examination shows that things were not properly gathered. There's a possibility of employing some semper reformada.

IG can't be refuted without refuting the rest of the system and that only because one is (1) unregenerate or (2) man-centered and fleshly

I have a problem with any doctrine that makes its last line of defense the same as that of the cults. I'm going to get flak for that, no doubt.

I saw one early entry in this discussion, that suggested that God "finds" faith in some. Not so! Faith is a gift of God! Eph 2:8,9 Those who receive faith are saved! The may reject the message, but they cannot reject Faith! This is part of irresistable grace, which started this discussion. BTW, Thank you Raquel! The Geezer
