So Daniel's discussion reminded me of an old one on purgatorio that proved pretty entertaining and I think we could do at least as well here.

Supposing you were planning to attend the public BURNING. What books would you throw in, dancing with glee as you watched them alight? Contrarily, which books would you risk third degree burns to save from the fire?

To keep in the spirit of the H8Rs, you may also mention other media; albums (yeah I know no one has these anymore) works of art (esp if it's christian and crappy) etc.

eta:Same rules apply as to my group. H8 crap. No H8N the H8rs.

I would happily torch any book with "Chicken Soup" in the title; any book by someone name "Olsteen" or "Hemingway". For each like this, there are many more I would risk the fire to save.

I would dance my little heart out to see anything from Kenneth Hagin, Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Joel Olsteen, and any of the rest of the Word Faith Cult...oh! Movement kindling...oh! material, I mean...:P BURN, BABY, BURN!!!

Books to save...the one and only Book with the saving message, the Word of God (a.k.a. the Bible).

Yes, exactly that Hemingway. I realize I'm in the minority, but I don't care at all for his writing style nor his hopeless-feeling, depressing stories.

While I don't believe in burning books because it smacks of Nazism, among the authors that I would never read are Richard Dawkins, Dan Brown, Deepak Chopra, Joel Osteen , Rick Warren and some others.

I'll be diving in to save Hemingway. As a redhead, I'm rather used to getting burnt anyhow.

It's no fun to burn things that no one would read anyway (like things on your personal bookshelf). I would much rather have a fire directly outside a christianese book store so that after I jack the fodder from unsuspecting hands, I can immediately dash outside to toss it in as I cackle with glee.
But if they were unsuspecting then the fire'd have to be out back or something. I'll have to perfect the plan before carrying it out.

Must be a Canadian thing. It's awfully hard to keep warm up there.

WOW! Hijacking didn't take long on this one!
How about "Bobbed Hair, Bossy Wives, And Women Preachers" by John R. Rice.
I would definitely make a go at getting Jonathan Edwards' works out of the fire.
To burn CDs by Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Britney Spears, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne and his whiny voice....

I'm surprised we haven't had any Calvin haters ready to toss in the Institutes. Cuz that usually crops up now and again.

Wow, throwing Darby in with Hitler? Ouch! Don't forget Ryrie while you're at it.
