Yep. He's not the guy I voted for, but he's deserving of my prayers!

Man I was suprised at the landslide though. I thought it would be a lot closer than that. That's what really hit me like a load of bricks. Of corse, I'm out of the loop here in Georgia where the state went 60% / 40% in favor of McCain.

I'm just glad it didn't end messily a la 2000.

Well we've got a Dem Pres, Dem House, Dem Senate, Washington allowing doctor assisted suicides, CA and South Dakota allowing minors to get abortions without notifying the parents for consent, Michigan allowing Medical Marijuana and Embryonic Stem Cell research and Arkansas sporting a Ban on Gay couples from adopting Children which I can only assume will eventually be making its way to the Supreme Court.

Hi Crazyupstart

I agree with you, the margin of victory was far greater and much more comfortable than I thought it would be, and the result could be called from quite early on in the evening, which surprised me.

The big surprises were in places like Indiana, Colorado, New Mexico and Virginia were the Obama claimed victory.

The votes in places such as Montana and Missouri (still to call but just leaning towards McCain by 0.2% of the votes)

However the biggest surprise may be in North Carolina which still has to confirm but which has Obama very slightly ahead.

What was probably most perturbing for the Republican Party is that John McCain did not take one state from the Democrats during the whole of the evening. It wasn't quite a landslide but it was a pretty heavy defeat on all fronts it would appear.

What may be even more significant is that there is a Democrat President, and comfortable Democrat majorities in both Congress and the Senate.

The margins in all three races were certainly wide than I anticipated.

We could have had a "pit bull with lipstick" masquerading as Vice-President of tyhe country.

Well, I would like to say I did not know the results and that your news comes as a surprise Kevin, but I knew at 10:00 when I went to bed..oh well

The "landslide" was essentially what I expected in every state. No urprises for me.

Ford screwed up the economy and Carter promised lots of change for the sake of change. It will be an even bigger landslide for Reagan in 4 years.

At least I really admire you guys for being brave enough to discuss last night’s events,, albeit in a rather downbeat, hangdog, pessimistic sort of fashion!

Over on P&P everybody appears to be doing their best to avoid discussing anything to do with the election like the plague!

What happened to Mary after the Virgin Birth appears to have suddenly taken on great importance in that particular blogosphere all of a sudden!

Phil, that post is from before election day and Michael was up last night in a chat room discussing election results with folk while it happened. I doubt that his head is buried in the sand when he has just as high a view of the sovereignty of God as you do.

You misread me somewhat.

Michael and I, although we are from different sides of the fence politically, get along very well and respect each other greatly. I posted recently that if everyone on P&P had the same high view of the Sovereignty of God as Michael did, then the blogosphere would be a far better place.

I was unable to join in the ongoing discussion last night. I have already said on P&P that I guess they are recovering from a long and exhausting night!

What has amused me most is that there have been a couple of more vociferous contributors who have been pretty vehement in their support for John McCain and their dislike of all things Obam-ish in recent days who have not surfaced today so far.

Maybe they are just waking up, or have other things to, but I would be interested to see what they have to say.
