I had posted this to another section and then Char was kind enough to direct me to this section.
Dart D. Ehrman's Book : Misquoting Jesus - The Story Behind Who Changed the Bible And Why, is the one I recently started reading and through about 4 chapters.
My questions so far:
One such question was about the Literacy level in the time period of the First Century?;
Secondly, to what standards are the statistics being compiled with regard to what constitutes literacy?
One standard could be fluent ability of language in reading, writing and speaking or just some of those categories.
Another which is indeed similar to the question above would be the level in which a person would be considered literate and the possibilities of various rankings of literacy?
