Comment by Gregory on June 26, 2008 at 7:50pm: There are a number of stories from the persecuted church which speak of how often they pray for us. They understand the dangers we are in and know that it is hard for Americans to remain faithful in light of all their wealth (and we are all wealthy by their standards). Also, Tom White, president of Voice of the Martyrs, will tell you that prayer is the thing most commonly asked for by the persecuted church.

I wanted to recommend a book on persecution if any of you haven't read it yet. Richards Wurmbrand's Tortured for Christ. It is a very graphic picture of the persecution this Romanian pastor endured and I think it should be required reading. Also, be sure to check out the Voice of the Martyrs at http://www.persecution.com/ to sign up for their newsletter and find more information.

The biggest thing we must provide to the persecuted church is our prayers.
