Tell us about yourself
My first encounter with Theology was through Reclaiming the Mind Ministries; “The Theology Program.” I completed the first three courses on my own and quickly discovered how much I didn’t know. At that point I developed my web site using the research to aid my Christian growth.

I am reformed but not a Lutheran, Calvinist, Presbyterians or Anabaptist. My current Church is Independent Baptist. If I had to choose right now I would have to say that my theology is Arminian because I believe:
•Humans are naturally unable to make any effort towards salvation
•Salvation is possible by grace alone
•Works of human effort cannot cause or contribute to salvation
•God's election is conditional on faith in Jesus
•Jesus' atonement was for all people
•God allows his grace to be resisted by those unwilling to believe
•Salvation can be lost, as continued salvation is conditional upon continued faith.

That said there are a number of Calvinists that I respect; Wayne Grudem and of course Michael and Rhome. I just can’t get past the Unconditional Election. On the other hand I believe that Roger Olsen makes a good case for Arminianism.

At this point I still have more questions than answers. I hope to find some on this site. And I want to thank Michael for providing it.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
Conservative Evangelical. I guess I fall in the “Historical Evangelical” category but leaning more toward Fundamentalist. I am very adverse to the Emergent (with a “t”) Movement of far left Liberalism; the jury is still out on the “Emerging (with a “g”) Church.”

Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
Ok, I am still trying to figure this one out.

Odds and Ends

Pump up the volume!!! The song you are listening to is from a Las Vegas Diamond Rio concert. They received an immediate resounding standing ovation, and continue to do so every time they perform it! Everyone who loves America should be thrilled to hear this song!

Although Diamond Rio has never before done a statement song, they felt compelled to record "In God We Still Trust." But guess what? Sadly, major radio stations wouldn't play it because it was considered "politically incorrect". Consequently, the song was never released to the public. So America , see what you think. If this offering speaks to your heart and you feel the urge to share it with friends and loved ones, please do.

Arthur, thank you for your kind comments.

I've often thought that this online business tends to encourage antagonism between people who might actually get along really well if they were sitting across a table from each other. It's so easy to forget that there is a person on the other side.

Raquel and I bump heads regularly, but I'm so glad I visited her site and got a little taste of the loving mother and generous heart that's behind the aggressively capable comments. Though my ears regularly ring from her blows, she's one of my favorite people here. I pray for her regularly.

Likewise, I will do my best to remember your sensitive encouragement when the two of us disagree (which I suspect will be fairly regularly :-) Thank you for reaching out to me.

Christ's peace,

Arthur; I think that you and I are Major agreement. I figured the "divine and Angel" thing was a minor slip of tongue, but if not noted, Someone would have picked it up and made a major argument out of it to make you look wrong. Keep fighting the good fight. Bro, Jack
