Tell us about yourself

My name is Dave and I've been a Christian for three years. Currently I work at a factory here in Indiana. I feel like the Lord has called me to be a teacher or possibly a preacher of his word but sometimes I wonder. I struggle with my communication skills, but I have a strong desire to teach people the Word of God. I heard a preacher say one time, "You can teach a man to use the right words, but you can't put a fire in his heart, only God can do that!" and that gave me great encouragement. I can't help but think of Moses, when the Lord first called him!

"Then Moses said to the LORD, 'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of toungue.' So the LORD said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.'" I praise God for that!

I believe that God is most glorified in the weakest among his people. They are the one's who see their desprate need for His grace. When I am weak, then am I strong!

I have a wife, Krista, who is a stay at home mom, and two little boys, I love to death. I've been teaching my oldest son, who is 4, theology, by using what is called, "The Chlidren's Prove it Catecism." It amazes me how smart he is.

How would you describe yourself theologically?

Well...when I first became a Christian I would pretty much read anything that talked about Jesus, but after a while I learned that there are good books and there are bad books.

I'm to the point now where I will only read things by men with a reformed background. So, I guess you could say Reformed.

I'm currently taking the courses offered by the Theology Program, and I'm working through a few of the courses on www.biblicaltraining.org.

I have a growing desire to study theology, and to learn how to correctly interpret the bible! I believe that is one of the greatest needs in the contemporary church. People who correctly divide the word of truth.

Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)

hmmm...I'm not really sure yet. I'll let you know when I begin to study church history!

The Depravity of a Child

Yes, children are precious and they truly are a gift from God. But as David said, “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Psalm 51:5
