The Operation Blackjack website that's caused all the fear and consternation now displays this: T'seekers would be "truth seekers", I presume. "JW" would probably be Justin Williams, an assistant editor at the London Telegraph. Web sleuths assume…

It's even worse than you think. Apparently President Obama's most influential adviser on restructuring the automotive industry is a 31-year-old kid who's never actually worked in the real world.

Tell us about yourself
I write, sing barbershop, and still believe the Cubs will someday win the Series. I also host, with my wonderful wife Sharon, P.I.D. Radio, a podcast devoted to cryptopolitics and the paranormal from a Christian perspective.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
Bible believing Christian. Probably closer to Independent Baptist than anything else, except that I don't believe the KJV is the only inspired translation, and Deuteronomy 22:5 does *not* mean that my wife can't wear jeans.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
I'm not qualified to name names.

Religion For Show

Do prominent Christian pastors actually study the Bible?

For example, President Obama heard this during the inaugural sermon at the National Cathedral today by Rev. Dr. Sharon E. Watkins:

In the later chapters of Isaiah, in the 500's BCE, the prophet speaks to the people. Back in the capital city after long years of exile, their joy should be great, but things aren't working out just righ

The Danger of Nothing

I am so bloody sick of designers on home improvement television shows describing their creations as “zen” and “zen-like”. Like Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride, I say, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Zen, it seems, is getting to know yourself. Why, Zen is the pinnacle of knowledge. In fact, turning your eye inward is the way to achieve enlightenment. Forget scriptures! Forget the Lord God

False Christ: There He Is! ...Not

"See that no one leads you astray. Many will come in my name, saying, 'I am he!' and they will lead many astray... And then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'Look, there he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect." -- Jesus (ESV translation)

Comes now word that another self-proclaimed messiah is… Continue

Is it wrong to ask questions when a man steps up to help the homeless?

The Shelbyville News reports that a local man wants to convert an empty warehouse into a homeless shelter. The building (pictured at right) is a 10,000 square fo… Continue

Just wanted to introduce myself and say "hi". I appreciated your blog post about the election. I also appreciate the fact that you're a suffering Cubs fans like myself!
