Profile Information

How would you describe yourself theologically?
I have had a complicated pilgrimage these 55 years.
That included
Liberal, charismatic and conservative denominations
Agnosticism
New age
a cult named Arica - www.Arica.org
Independent
Unchurched

At the end of this I cling to this summary
Salvation is
by grace alone
through faith alone
in Christ alone
based on Scriptures alone
to the glory of God alone.

Some hear that and assume I am a Calvinist. There are parts of Calvinism and reform theology that are not directly and only rooted in the scriptures. And that is were we differ.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
Martin Luther

Do You Desire to View LOTS of Good Online Videos?

Many years ago I felt strongly motivated to WRITE.
Jesus Christ had recently delivered from drug abuse and a cult.
I did not know where to begin.
So I sought and found interviews with writers.
These were all kind of writers.

Most of the time the interviewer asked the same question.
“What recommendations do you have for new writers?”
The answer was ALWAYS, “You learn to write by writing.”
So do what ever it takes to get into the HABIT of writing.
That could mean 30 minutes each weekend to 3 hour… Continue

Ask God to Use Me Mightily

I have worked at a seminary since 1999.
I have been in the student computer lab.
That allowed me to know and love many dozens of students.
I personally know lots of graduates.

These men and women came to learn how to serve God.
They desire to minister the truth and love of God.
I would guess that about one third have regular ministry outlets.
About one third are ministering irregularly.
And I guess that one third rarely minister at all.

Jesus said in Luke 10:2 that the fields are ripe but the… Continue

Want Fuel for Evangelistic Christmas Messages?

Read my short article on Christmas and the Good News
http://www.freewebs.com/simplelessons/PDFs/ChristmasandGoodNews.pdf
Adapt parts to messages you share with family, friends, church members and others.

God can use parts of this to spark parts of sermons, Bible lessons and blog posts.

The Holy Spirit might guide you to develop some multi media way to hook into the Christmas season and point to the Savor with His… Continue

Your Invitation to the Public Square

I went to the Wikipedia to do some research for a web site about preaching.
What I found there was disappointing.
Mostly it was very patchy.
There is plenty of historical background in some cases.
But a simple summary of the basics was lacking.
I had hoped to point those who came to my web site to go there for an overview.

Some of these pages are asking for citations for verification.
The neutrality of many articles is disputed.
Your inputs could make a huge difference.

As you know the Wikiped… Continue
