If you can find a confessional Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod church in your area, you ought to check out that church before you leap. The problem with the Anglicans is that their theology is a mile wide and and inch deep as you noted that it incl...

This is my answer about Infant Baptism from Luther's Large Catechism. It probably will not suit because it is Lutheran: Of Infant Baptism. 47] Here a question occurs by which the devil, through his sects, confuses the world, namely, Of Infant Bap...

Why lies He in such mean estate, Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Lutheranism

This is from a Lutheran Blog Confessional gadfly, What are your thoughts?

1. Scripture is the Inspired, True, Word of God, which Christians are to believe and are to understand as the basis of any doctrine.
2. Scripture says that you are sinful through and through, and that even your own attempts at being good are full of wickedness and failure.
3. Scripture says that Christ Jesus, True God and True Man, wins Salvation and Forgiveness and Life for you through His death and resurrection.

Harry--I hope I didn't say anything to shut down your discussion on unity in doctrine. That was never my intention!

Harry; I told you a long time ago...it's time to tell you, again, that I appreciate your participation on theologica. You are a gentleman; kind-hearted and consistant.
While we don't agree on everything, I hope that my replies to you do not cut or hurt. Shucks! I don't agree with myself, all the time.

Harry; 72 years old! Why, you're almost a geezer, yourself! I will be 74 next Wednesday, if the Lord leaves me here, that long! Blessings to you, Harry.

Harry; your last post on baby dedication, included something about: "eighth day of new life in Christ". I've never heard of this before.
Perhaps you'd like to start a discussion, about it on theologica?
Grace to you. The Geezer

Hey thanks for the note. I didn't do a good job of communicating my point. I did send a note to Rey apologizing. It's getting very difficult to post here for me. I think you do a great job and would love to stay in contact with you. I moderate a Forum called the High Church Collaborative Forum on the theOoze.com.

There isn't much debating just a discussion of differing Traditions of High Church, including Lutherans. It's very cool and I'd love to have you contribute. This place beating me up. Shoot me a private message and I'll give you my email so we can stay in touch.

Thanks Harry. I will check out what you sent. I didn't realize that WELS was more conservative than Mo Synod. It will be a hard switch (I'm equalitarian), but I'm willing to give that non-essential up if I can get good teaching. :)
