Be careful where you go with that logical stance. Just because something is from the OT doesn't mean it is irrelevant or only half the story. God hates the sinner. God also loves the sinner. You have Romans 9:13 where it says that God hated Esau ...

Not at this time but as things occur to me I will edit my profile.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
I am a multi point Calvinistic Covenant Dispensationalist. Which is my little way of saying that I hold to Reformed theological principles and while I believe that God makes covenants with man, I am a dispensationalist in the sense of how God has structred his calender.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
I have many favorites but not one I would call the greatest

Hey John,

Why, thank you very much for the kind and gracious compliment. I just wish I could do more with it for the Kingdom - I'm not interested in showing my work in galleries. I'm praying about it. :)

Peace & grace to you,

Holly

The answer to the question is both. Well I would actually agree and add that since the fall, we are only human; and since the cross, we have POTENTIAL for restoration to the status that Adam had before his little snack. While I cannot prove it, I believe that Adam was the type of being that Yeshua became after the resurrection. I believe that prior to the fall, we had powers and abilities (like walking thru walls or on water etc, possibly radiant like at the transfiguration or when Moses came off the mount) which shut down after the fall. We know this: Adam was some type of "perfect" being, till the fall. We have lived with the problems and limitations ever since; but AFTER the resurrection, we will be, again, some sort of completion. I just think the two would be the same, that we will return to the being that our creator had always intended.

We also bear the image of humanity. We look like our ancestors or our fathers. We have some of the same attributes of our fathers and mothers (hair color, eye color, facial appearance and etc).

I tried to post this answer to you post but it has been closed down. Thanks for the extra effort. I closed it out of respect for the guidelines.

I have a lot of verses that, like that one, are often over looked. I don't mind different opinions on a topic but I DON'T like that many people have not searched out the scriptures and so are unaware of information that could alter their conclusion regarding a topic.

Again - thanks for the effort

John; I've enjoyed all your posts, and agree with a great many of them, but Your last paragraph, to Guy, confused me. I agree, that he is off-base, but your response was so strong! What doctrine was so heretical? In Love, Brother, Jack
