Paedo vs Credo: Main point of contention?

Is this thing still going? Didn't everybody just say all this stuff on, like, five other threads?

Why can’t I always “feel” the Lord’s presence?

Just thought I'd add a couple more Q's: Is there such a thing as 'feeling' God's presence? Or is it just that, a feeling? A workup of the psyche of the mind? Is it a real presence? Is it mere emot...

World Religion & Denomination Numbers

Ok, glad that was fixed. But, I'm still gritting my teeth over the percentage chart now. Why is it that: Anglican/episcopal = 12% = 70 Mil. Lutheran = 12% = 73 Mil. Methodists = 12% = 75 Mil. Pres...

World Religion & Denomination Numbers

1) I love playing with numbers. 2) Why is there no actual # on the 5th chart for presby/reformed? I guess we have to infer that 11% is roughly 60 to 69 mil. ? 3) I would land myself on that grayi...

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself
Hi my name is Jonathan, I have a wife (of almost 7 years) and four children, Titus (5), Britt (3), and Bronwyn (born July 08) and just found out about the one expected in Dec. 09. :) Good thing I like kids, ah?

I am the youngest of five and come from a conservative family in Georgia. I am probably a 3rd generation Christian (all my grandparents I know were great Christians and most of my great grandparents that I knew).

Raised in the Charismatic church until age 12 when my father helped to start a church plant to form a "body without the baggage" church: 1) Reformed teaching without OVER emphasizing the regulative principle or "Presbyterianism." 2) Charismatic understanding of gifts that God grants to certain people, without going overboard or "pushing" the spirit upon people but allowing God to work in our midst. 3) Evangelical outlook: a focus as a church that is not only on our own body but upon spreading His kingdom: Family, church, local area, nation, overseas missions.

I play guitar, and have led worship for about 10 years. I am now taking a break from that in hopes to put more time to biblical studies.

I am enrolled at Whitefiled Theological Seminary to further my study of the bible.

Graduate of the ALERT Academy, Texas, '02.

Oh my goodness - I was CRACKIN up when I read what you posted. But just in case, I'm going to clarify here (the problem with language, especially slang: always evolving).

banging - used to be used as a sexual term... you know the rest.
banging - now a term used to express either extreme pleasure in something (ex: that record is banging) or a term that strongly expresses verbally putting someone down (ex: I'm not banging on the pope). In both cases, the sentiments are extreme.

Song Review: Revive Us Again

Yeah so I've been asked several times by people what kind of music my church usually sings. So I have decided to start a little review blog of my favorite songs. As it doesn't do much good to tell people about a bunch of songs that they probably haven't heard (perhaps not in this way anyhow), I set out to put a few of them down on digital paper (recording). I'll update later with how pathetically that failed. But as for now, we'll start off with an oldie but goodie:

God is great, beer is good...

So, like I was on the way home from work yesterday and tuned the radio in to a local country station. Why? I never listen to country anymore. My uncle sings in country music so I grew up listening to good country, playing my guitar and singing wailing at the top of my lungs myself. I don't listen to the country music anymore, but I still enjoy wailing at the top of my lungs while pounding my guitar. :)

So as I was saying, I just happened to turn to the country station and… Continue
