I think it is critical for members to minister outside the church body and that the church, as a whole, should equip and train them for this ministry (but not to act as "ministry cruise directors," managing the ministries). As for the whole church...

The Church is the Bride of Christ. Each individual believer is not. Many such songs lack this distinction. On the other hand, Jesus is my friend (as well as Lord, Savior, etc) and the Father is, well, the Father, and some sort of intimacy is appr...

I had no routine for a while, so I'm using My Utmost for His Highest as training wheels of sorts. Not sure what I'll do next, but the walk sounds intriguing.

Now, I use and appreciate my paper bible, but the set of translations, commentaries, dictionaries, and devotionals on my Treo make it possible for me to read and study Scripture almost anywhere and anytime. I try to keep in mind that there was a ...

THE NATURE OF MY POSTS

The blog entries I post here are ruminations. The American Heritage Dictionary defines "rumination" as "1. The act of pondering; meditation. 2. The act or process of chewing cud." I choose to ruminate in public in the hopes of opening dialog. The point of the rumination is synergy (AHD="1. The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects."), in hopes that the result of dialog is clarity and a better grasp of truth.
