from y understanding of the subject when I was Presbyterian, infant baptism is based off several assumtions: 1) Israel is the Church. 2) Circumsion was a sign of salvation in the OT 3) Like Kandy mentioned, children are saved (this, to my knowledge,…

The point of salvation being the point we believed in Christ.

If we, as little children, were alive in Christ, then how did we get "out of Christ" only to be put back in again at the point of salvation? Ephesians 2:11-13: "Therefore, remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called "Uncirc…

Kandy, I don't believe this passage is speaking about the salvation of children at all. The child mentioned is just a tool Jesus was using for another parable, another opportunity to teach his disciples something. If we look at the context of the s…

Matt. 18: 3 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. This tell us that little children are already saved in the kingdom of God.

Lisa, I've watched and listened to numerous extended sermons by Paul Washer dealing with this subject (most of his sermons on this matter are 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours long), and I don't think he is basing conversion on a feeling of change. He is asking…

Joanne, I think we have to break loose of this I'm an individual; don't mess with my individuality mindset. We need to open our Scriptures and realize what was accomplished on the cross for us, and learn what it means to be ransomed and redeemed. I…

Tim, Thank you. I do what I do because God has brought me here, and I desire to honor Him, my wife, my daughter, and those I love. Blessings, Michael

Amen (a painful one)! Excellent points, brother. Much to think about. And thank you so much for your service. It is appreciated with inexpressable words. God bless.

I hear you! How do we move forward from here? How would an ordinary person move forward from here?

Josh, Is there a reason you want a 17" screen? General rule is the bigger the screen the shorter the battery power. Of course there are more variants that come into play with that rule, but it is generally safe to go by. The best way to make a pro…

Tell us about yourself
My name is Michael, and I struggle. I suppose it is just what I am best at; testing what is placed in front of me and questioning every idea handed down to me. I guess this is why I have so many scars.

I have enough scars to trace a road map from here to oblivion. I used to hate these scars, I used to love these scars, I use to hide behind these scars, and I used to use these scars as my identity. Now I simply wear them; they are mine, they each tell a story, and they each have taught me so much about Hope, Faith, and Love.

By my own stupidity, and by the stupidity of others, I find myself here; now. Older, maybe a little wiser, a little stronger, but ultimately sweetly broken at the feet of Christ, Jesus; given and surrendered.

It is here where I find the man that I am to be: friend, lover, husband, father. A student and a teacher. A man that cares about others. A man who is known by his Love.

but…

But I am not always that man. Most of the time I am not that man. So I do what I do best; I struggle. I struggle until I realize that I alone cannot win this fight. I struggle until I am broken all over again. It is then that I do what I have should have done from the beginning: give the battle to the Lord.

And He teaches me. He strengthens me. He takes me through the fire. He transforms me. And with a Love that only God can give, He Loves me despite -perhaps in spite- of my ever eternal insufficiency.

It is there in that place when I realize what I want to do most with my life. I desire simply to point the world to Christ. No matter how injured, how wounded, how broken I may be, I just always want to point the world to Christ, and to follow where ever He leads me.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
Simply; I'm a member of the Southern Baptist Convention with strong Reformed leanings. I agree with 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith and the Baptist Faith and Message.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
I don't know if you'd consider him a theologian, but Spurgeon is my kind of guy.

Christians, Culture, Loopholes, and a Long Couple of Weeks

"No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the LORD." ~Proverbs 21:30

It has been a trying couple of weeks. I've been assaulted by all manner of strange philosophies and ideologies that claim Christ as their core, and yet they seem as far from Christ as possible. As one who associates with a certain subculture, I find it so frustrating to see self-professing Christians use awkwardly interpreted Scriptures to justify their actions and associations, and then stop there. A… Continue

"Follow Me"

As Jesus passed on from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth, and he said to him, "Follow me." And he rose and followed him. ~Matthew 9:9

Do you suppose that Matthew had a choice? Do you think that he could have looked at Jesus, our mighty God-Man who had bound the… Continue

What the Lord Has Seen Me Safely Through...

"I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High." ~Psalm 9:1-2

I can't help but to stand staggered in awe of the LORD. The more I've learned, and the more I learn, about what I survived I can't help but to realize that truly i… Continue

Why I've Lamented for so Long: my father and Calvary Chapel Hanford...

"For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers..."
~1 Corinthians 4:15

To my earthly father, I have been proclaimed dead. That to him we will meet and speak again only at the time of our passing into physical death. I have understood for years -before even my conversion- that my father was absent from the life of his family. I have been given no… Continue
