Tell us about yourself
Hoping to buck the trend which states that those on the emerging church side of the fence cannot possibly be truly interested in theology.

I am sadly in my mid forties. I am married to Anne and have a six and a half year old (going on 28!) young daughter called Rebecca.

I am what is termed as a "Licensed Reader" at St John and St James Anglican Church Orrell Hey, Bootle, Liverpool UK. That doeS not mean all I do is read the Bible publically in church , it is a leadership/leading worship/teaching/pastoral lay ministry to complement and support my ordained colleagues. I am also part of a collaborative Shared Ministry Team.

I am currently engaged in an Anglican/Methodist initiative here in the UK enttitled Fresh Expressions. This is borne out of the Mission Shaped Ministry strategy which resulted from one of the most hard hitting and important reports the Church of England has ever produced entitled Mission Shaped Church.

I love walking, creative thinking, discussion, reading, politics/current affairs, film, exploring/travel, sport, good food/drink and good company.

I especially enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter.

I am a member of a Book Club in my workplace and despite living close to two of the biggest soccer teams in the UK (namely Liverpool and Everton) I perversely support a lower league team called Chester City.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
Evangelical, charismatic, emerging, atempting to become more contemplative and reflective.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)
Martin Luther/Dietrich Bonhoeffer/Tom Wright (any one of three)
What is your web-address?

Believe me, with politics - there will always be disagreements.

First I will ask if you have lived in America. If not, then may I say, the worldview you see of Americans in Europe is not accurate to who we are. It is merely the image the liberal press presents to you. The press has a tremendous amount of power in the US and you see only one peek through their eyes of what is really going on in our country. You see only one image of Obama. That is what will inflame others :)

When I first joined P&P I chose a different name, not because I'm a woman, but for safety reasons. On Theologica - with the blog feature, I decided I didn't need it.

I wonder - are you the same as BritPhil on P&P? It just occurred to me we have talked before - and you told me I might be fun to hang out with and have a cup of java with! I'm FromTheBalcony on P&P!

You don't understand why the presidency of the US (leader of the most powerful nation) can't just do a simple over night change over?? We are changing world leaders. The candidates haven't been in on any top secret meetings as mere presidential candidates. There's a lot of "bringing up to speed" on national and world matters that has to go on before they are ready to answer to a terrorist tomorrow and what not.
Cheers.

Hi, Phil. Glad to have you as a friend. By the way, it’s an ukulele. But I do also strum a guitar.

My wife and I run an ad agency. My background is consumer copywriting, but I have a pretty good grounding in accounting. She is an art director by training, but gifted at operations.

Talk to you later.
