Thanks Ray! I have been surprised recently by the people who seem to think I don't have a sense of humor, so I thought I'd try something new for a picture.

What he said. I've heard this quoted so many times and used as a proof for paying taxes and submission to the earthly authority while at the same time missing the whole point by missing the immediate context.

Can I print out the code being used by Ning to make these "improvements" (first reply last in the blogs, [first][previous][next][last]....) and toss those in the fire? 'Cause these improvements are crap.

the Quirks thread is going to seriously hurt over this improvement. How can I be easily entertained by the humor on page 14 when I have to click through 13 "next"s to get to it. I agree... this improvement is not an improvement.

Daniel, Pay no mind to the man behind curtain! Joseph Smith didn't say what he said! You think he did but your eyes deceive you. He meant something different because you don't understand the context. You just don't understand. What you need is f...

REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBER: A short story from the British Reformation

A QUICK AND INSUFFICIENT BACKGROUND (but I'm usually too wordy, so I'll keep it brief)

The earliest years of the 17th century were a tumultuous time on the British Isles. The years leading up to the turn of that century had seen many political and religious changes that kept the Isles teetering on edge of Civil war. First there were the breaks from alliance with France and Roman Catholicism by Henry VIII while Scotland was strengthening its alliance with France and

On a Lack of Tact and a Love for a Saint

Bear with me.... I'm too wordy.

Early in my Christian life I had to come to terms with the sad fact that I lacked a certain quality that might make me effective in communication. It seems that the lack of this quality “turned people off” when discussing doctrine amongst friends and witnessing to the lost. I counted this as a fault and worked through prayer, study, and under guidance to rid myself of the fault. Over a period of years I was able to approach conversations in a manne

FOR YOU, FOR FREE - NO SHIPPING REQUIRED: Creeds and Such, Flipbook

So, a few weeks ago my wife tells me that it would be cool if our oldest had a quick reference guide to the London Baptist Confession of Faith. (Background: Been Reformed Baptist for a few years and Semper Reformanda, so our kids are just now getting used to the whole Confession, catechism, and knowing the creeds) So I say, "Yeah, that would be cool." And that was it. As far as I was concerned he could carry the confession around, the booklet we gave him isn't that big.

Then, two… Continue

Temporary InterLiturgicalContemporaryDenominational Dilemma.

I am in need of advice, sort of. Here's the thing, I don't have a good answer to the situation I'll explain below, but I'm honestly not sure if there is a good answer. I've been praying about it, a lot, but have yet to come to a good conclusion.

So, the situation:

I am currently deployed for a six month stint in Kuwait. For anyone who doesn't know much about how military deployments work, Kuwait is the "place to be." Upsides to getting deployed to Kuwait are:

1) There are established bases/ca… Continue
