No, I am not saying this is in reference to the canon. But it is restricted to the testimony of Christ, i.e. the gospel message and specifically related to Israel's consideration of it, when read in context. ScottL said:Lisa - Of course this truth…

Lisa - Of course this truth from Rom 10:17 is true across the board. And I don't believe Paul was necessarily referring to written Scripture, though I agree written Scripture fits. I'm sure you know that I believe God speaks bigger than the recorde…

Ser...too funny dude! So it looks like there's going to be some split hairs all over the place. I understand what you are trying to say Scott and I appreciate your heart, really I do. One of the tragedies of the WFM is ripping passages out of their…

Ser - Yes, I am aware. That is why I was trying to bring the pendulum back to the middle by referring to Lisa as a 'word of faith' believer. I know she believes that 'faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of Christ.' Just as the word 'chari…

Lisa - but actually I would say that all Christians are spirit-indwelt but not spirit-filled See, we can agree! ;) Also, I still think you are part of 'word of faith', because you do believe faith does come by hearing. ;)

Not to split hairs, but actually I would say that all Christians are spirit-indwelt but not spirit-filled, the latter being allowing the indwelt Spirit to have control. Also, like you, I was once very much aligned with the Word Faith movement. Ros…

Hey! Thanks for all the links! I have been on a new theological journey. Over the years the Lord has been pruning away my old 'Word of Faith' beliefs. Through these links, I did find a refreshing movement: Charismatic Reformed. I am thankful that my…

Lisa, you are such a sweet thing. Vince, are you in a NFI church in Britain?

Ross, I just caught the post title (even though I saw it before). I'm not sure why you would characterize teachers that are charismatic/pentacostal as "spirit-filled". This suggests that non-continuationists are not, which I think is an unfortunate…

Scott, you would be surprised to know that I was going to recommend Sam Storms but you beat me to it. See, just when you think you got me figured out ;-) ScottL said:Sam Storms of Enjoying God Ministries I put up some articles in favor of continua…

About Me:

(This is an ever-revising of my first post @ EpicYear.com ( http://sacredism.com ) < Check out my blog!

My real name is Marshall ‘Ross’ Reeves ;my online (& artist alias) name is st. Mars : a word play off of my first name. Epic Year? Yes! The Lord (the Christian one) had given me a personal word for 2008 in December 2007: EPIC. I had been at a sort of new beginning in my life at that time, and ‘epic’ seemed to be the spark needed to start the fires of 2008. Man, there has been some spiritual and emotional fires!

OK….I’m a husband of almost 20 years(I’m 38) to a sexy, spirit-filled woman(Karen), father of 4, artist, rad tech, and recently called into ‘alternative ministry*’ (again!). Before we continue:* I know ‘alternative ministry’ sounds general, but I dislike the term 'ministry'....so, for me, I am called to preach. Preach?...to who, where, when...?...don't know yet...its part of the Epic journey.

WARNING! God has called me into a season of transparency, soooo, it will be interesting to see what happens ...

What am I like? If your a Christian, you'll probably be offended; if your a pagan, well, you'll think I'm a freak! I am a ADD conceptual/modern artist that loves unique, alternative,or radical churches & preachers (Steven Furtick, Perry Noble), alternative rock (Silversun Pickups, Strokes, Weezer), Juxtapoz art & my crazy family(which includes my beautiful wife Karen). Well, I love most art (I am not a graphic artist....but I digg it). I love church marketing. I love weird internet stuff. I love sinners. I love my church( Grace Creek ). I love love (it sounded clever).

My previous online presences has exsited through my art sites; feel free to dig around:
