Just in case any readers happen to come by the blog via a google search on drinking, alcohol, beer and Christianity (putting in the buzz words for the search engine): drinking responsibly does not mean knowing how much to drink in your situation a...

Longings

Amazed, I am, at the bigger picture;
Heart enlivened to feel the flicker.
Our journey’s superior to words on paper;
Deadening the drama never made us greater.
If only you know by parchment and ink,
Tis no satisfaction for longings so deep.
Only drinking from the cup of life’s great treasure,
Can we truly taste delight and unearth truest pleasure.

A Theology of Beer

In the past, I have briefly written my theology of coffee. I truly do love coffee. I don't feel addicted to it, but just really enjoy it, especially a couple of warm cups early in the morning in my office with my Bible open. And Europe has some good coffee.

But I have also wanted to write a theology of beer as well. I must admit, and I am not ashamed to say so, I really enjoy beer. Yes, it is a special activity… Continue

The Greater Picture of Worship

When we speak of worship, what initially comes to mind for many is the corporate time of worship in our Sunday morning gatherings, which usually includes music. Or, within some more traditional contexts, worship would involve the whole 'service', including the sharing of communion, the preaching of the Word, and a handful of other activities that could take place.

But I think many a people are starting to realise that such is a bit of a reductionist understanding to specifically pinpoint… Continue

Baby Got Book

In keeping with my desire to post videos that make me chuckle, here is one below. Well, I hope it makes you laugh, but it could just make you shake your head at such silliness.

You might remember the dance-rap song, Baby Got Back. This one is called Baby Got Book.

What Is The Gospel? (Part 5)

After much thought and consideration over the past few weeks, I am now able to conclude with my fifth and final entry on my series of what is the gospel. Here are some summary points from the first four articles:

I started out by claiming that an attempt to define the gospel is both a simple act and not so simple act. It is simple in that the gospel is not to be overloaded with do's and do not's. We don't really have to write some treatise to simply define that which is the good n… Continue

Well I kind of assumed the woman (the one behbeh looks like) that has featured in several photos with you and him and before that with you but pregnant is his mama. Am I wrong? Cause if I am, that's pretty weird man.

I don't see how this is not true, that dispensationalism teaches that the rapture and final coming are two separate events.??? Yes, they teach that they are separate events, but I don't think you have considered why they teach that (or if you have considered, you do not allow in your writings that maybe there are reasons). Rather, you just write as if they for no reason arbitrarily split the same event into two events.

That's okay. I think the thread had run the course of my OP, but I did ask that people not engage the validity question. I (with the whole of theologica readership) understand that you disagree with Dispensationalism (and the other isms affiliated with it). But really, with the things you say about it to try to bolster your system, the Dispensationalism is and is not thread threatens your inerrancy thread faster than my Quirks.

It also seems you were trying to make a point, so it's kinda weird that now you want to back off and say you were "joking". There's nothing wrong with presenting your point of view and you don't have to pretend you were joking.

Rey's gift is hawt.

It's been busy lately, and a lot of the threads I've read but not really commented on—either out of my area of knowledge or interest, or I have nothing new to contribute. I was hoping to comment on your blogposts about the gospel, but work and life have gotten in the way of the important things lately. ;)

Thanks for the comment.
