These are VERY good points. I've never seen any answer to them either. I've asked for a long time now, just where was Jesus going when he ascended up into the clouds? I've NEVER received an answer. Now that we know that nothing but the void and va...

Heaven isn't really in the sky? Seems like the ancients believed it was, everyone in the ANE in fact, and plenty of verses in the Bible state it was. “The heavens are (therefore) the heavens of the Lord; But the earth He has given to the sons of m...

How would you describe yourself theologically?
Very much a conservative at heart, I have had to lay aside a few typically conservative and otherwise majority beliefs due to my refusal to ignore incontrovertible evidence that contradicts those positions. I'm quite conservative Christologically, for instance, but not near so much bibliologically: although I retain a high regard for Scripture, I do not hold to inerrancy as stated in the Chicago Statement.

I agree with you completely. That is why I put on my personal comment section a disclaimer that even if there was no scientific evidence for God, it does not mean God does not exist. However, it is equally foolish to have this scientific evidence and not use it to our full advantage when so many could use it to help them cross over the bridge that separates their mind from connecting to God. For some, just the mere fact that moral law exists within us, is enough proof for God, is the case for Dr. Francis Collins of the Human Genome Project, but for others it is viewed only an excuse by Creationists that is used for lack of true scientific evidence. Why not present them with both rather than insist only of one?
It is arrogance that precludes us from going down to a child's level to explain simply in order to prove to them how much we know by using difficult vocabulary the child does not understand so we can point out the child's deficiency and insisting that they see it only our way, and that our way is so clear. It may be clear to us, but not to the child. And so I say, it is far better that I lower myself to the child's level to help that child over the bridge and make that connection. You and I should not be trying to prove how much we know, we should instead, as best as we can, trying to find how to hold their hand until we can transfer their hand over to Christ's hand. That is what my mission is. It is not geared to those who are confident in Christ's existence. It is geared for those who are lost and need stepping stones of scientific evidence which build a foundation for them to step upon and feel secure as they walk on the path toward God. And like stepping stones, when the water becomes turbulent in the river, it is reassuring to feel that stone under our feet. That is what scientific evidence does for us in times when faith is tested. But as faith grows, faith allows us to continue on even though we cannot see into the clouded water. Once we get to the other side with God, the feel of His hand, His presence is enough, and scientific evidence is no longer an issue. I hope this helps to clarify.
Blessings of the Lord to you, and let's keep it friendly not sarcastic, after all we are on the same team.
