Sudan

Yesterday I was surprise by the news: The International Criminal Court decided to arrest Sudanese President on war crimes charges. At last someone is trying to do something.

Some time ago I wrote about the hell in Darfur. I will add it here again. While the world is facing an economical global crisis, a people in Africa is trying to survive. Jesus came not only to us, but to the whole world, including the forgotten continent.

Hell in Darfur, Sudan

The Baptism of Jesus

Matthew´s gospel tells us about the Baptism of Jesus by John, the Baptist.

Now a days we know why we are baptized, but would someone like to talk about why Jesus was baptized?
For you, what does this represent to us? What did he intend to show us?

What episode in the Old Testament tells us that Christ would be anointed by His father?

Hell in Darfur

Hell in Darfur, Sudan

Had you ever heard about Darfur? I hadn´t. I only knew where Sudan is.

We have just celebrated Xmas- the birth of our Savior - and this week I read an article that shocked me and made me think. Its name was : “ Darfur- waiting for a savior. “

Yes, we have just celebrated Xmas , a feast that now a days joins people all around the world despite their creed and race. Xmas tree , Saint Claus, lights, ornaments, good food, joy shared with parents and friends, exchange of gif… Continue

Epiphany Sunday - The importance of following a star

The word Epiphany comes from the Greek επιφάνειa and it means “appearance” or “manifestation”. It is a Christian feast intended to celebrate the “revelation” of God to mankind in human form, in the person of Jesus. The earliest reference to Epiphany as a Christian feast was in the year 361.

To many ancient people- and even to the Jewish people- when a new king was born, a new star appeared in the sky. For this, in the gospel, we find the astrologers´ preoccupation - wrongly nominated as Magic Ki… Continue

Hello T.
You living in Rome? Doing work in ministry, as a missionary, just trying to stay one step ahead of the Carabineri?
I lived in Naples for a year as a guest of the USMC.

T. Bell, Since you learned English in another country, probably formal training, I'd guess, your English is more correct than we Americans use.
Our native language is going down a sink-hole of slang and "street-language". Most of us couldn't follow a book written in English, 100 years ago. Its part of the "dumbing-down" process of our public school system.
I met a lady from a south-american country who had formally learned English, which she spoke fluently, but she had to ask what people were talking about, because they used so much slang or simply poor pronunciation. I come from a northern state, which speaks more correctly than most southerners, but I find southerners more polite and friendlier than a lot of "Yankees". I find the southern "dialect" quite to my liking.
