About this Dispensational thing . . .

Dr. Mike, perhaps this could be beneficial. Acts 17:30 says, "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent," Repent (chan...

And an added remark that seems pertinent is, just mulling over it here and you can take it or leave it, but if there are ongoing dispensations, should we then preach the Dispensation of Grace to th...

Dr. Mike, I'd agree with you on the idea that God will save anyone no matter where they are (i.e., Texas, eastern Kentucky) based on the death and resurrection of Christ and their own personal resp...

Dr. Mike, Acts 17:30 says, "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent," Repent (change their mind) about what? Verse 31 reveals that it is Christ. So in other words, Go...

This might be a spot to check out, since it also discusses the various views on marriage and divorce that we recently discussed here.

Brother Jack, I would tend to disagree. And I'm not really looking to get into the whole Calvinism/Arminianism debate right now, but consider this, that those verses do not teach that faith is a gift of God, but that salvation is a gift of God.

Paul says in Eph 2:8,9 that we are saved through the instrument of faith, which is a gift of God's grace. Since God gives true saving faith, how could He find fault with that faith? God does not give us faith in false objects. Altho People believe...

In the same vien of this disussion, I'd like to pose another question: Are there other ways to get to Heaven (be saved, etc.) other than faith in Jesus Christ? And if so, on what Scriptures is this based upon?

God's Graces

God’s Graciousness

The Scriptures are abundantly clear that God is a gracious God (Genesis 21:1; Exodus 22:27; 34:6; 1 Sam. 2:21; 2 Kings 13:23; Romans 5:8).

God’s Bestowal of Grace

Common Grace

God, in His graciousness, offers His grace to the entire world (John 3:16-18; Titus 2:11). However, this grace (the offer not the Offered) that He gives is not a constant, that is, for us of mankind in general. That is, it will be withheld at the point of death to those who rejec… Continue

Faith, Baptism or Both?

How Are Calvary’s Benefits Applied: by faith, baptism or both?

Please know this, before anyone reads this post, it is not my intention to offend, to argue with or condemn, but if the Holy Spirit through His Word pierces your heart, let it be so…

The purpose and personal encouragement

Although it wasn’t my intention when I began the discussion “Ecumenism: does it really matter what I believe?” to have a debate over how one is saved, it’s my joy to let you, the reader, know the truth (not by my… Continue

What Must I Do to Be Saved?

What must I do to be saved?
What: Put your faith in Jesus Christ alone. There is only one requirement of God upon those seeking His forgiveness and eternal life: faith. "Faith?" you might ask, "Faith in what?" However, it is not a question of what we have faith in, for instance, having faith in our own personal faith, or being baptized, or where we go to church nor faith in anything else we do that can saves us. Rather, it is a question of Who? It is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is the obje… Continue

Anger

"Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27

The subject of anger is one in which the Bible speaks frequently. There are two Greek words that appear in the New Testament that are equivalent to our English word "anger". One means “passion, energy” and the other means “agitated, boiling.” Anger could, then, be defined as a natural, God-given energy. Since God Himself, who can not sin, is angered (Psalm 7:11) and belie… Continue

Tim; I'm not trying to "poke holes in your argument". I'm actually looking for answers. I just know that I don't have a full grasp of of "Imputed" and "inherited" sin.
I cannot deny "imputution" without denying the imputation of my sin to Christ, and the imputation of His rightousness to me.
