Hey Chrarles, I'm a Baptist, too, so I guess we'll have to keep an eye on Mark LOL! I have been running wave for a few weeks and I'm am here to tell you it the greatest thing since sliced bread. When I originally mentioned it above I had only read...

Hey I'm a Baptist so now I'll be keeping my eye on you! Seriously if we are talking about using Wave, it is difficult to get accounts there since it is still in development and the feature set is not all there.

On the Google Wave question: the best thing to do there is go to their site and watch the short promo video, but it isn't available yet. Will be soon. On text books, I will call them "grammars" from here out, I would suggest two different paths to...

That sounds good. What is Google Wave? If it's not out yet, what's it suppose to be? I have other things to share but right now I'm still waking up (it's 5:00 AM lol) and getting ready for work. It would be more along the line of text-books, onli...

Tell us about yourself
For connectivity's sake: By profession, I am a medium range (regional) truck driver. I have an HTC Touch Pro Windows Mobile 6.1 phone that does almost everything a laptop will do. I can send and receive e-mail, and I can do some simple administration things on Ning, but I can't do everything. So, if you don't hear from me for four days or so, don't worry, I will be back and I can see everything going on. And you can always e-mail me.
How would you describe yourself theologically?
I have an Independent Baptist (Fundamental) theological background and Bible college training. I currently attend a Free Will Baptist Church, that is very close to the Independent Baptist belief system.
However, I part ways with my denomination on bibliology and textual criticism.
Who is the greatest theologian in the last 2000 years? (Besides Biblical People!)

The Eulogy of my Bible

This is a story that is not only true, but painfully true. I am writing about it as some vehicle of finding sympathetic therapy. I am also writing this, not as if anybody would actually read the whole thing, but to have all of these memories brought to the surface so they are not lost forever. Finally, to the reasoning as they will be here for my children and grand children. I only have scraps of scribble from one of my Grand Fathers life.

New to Theologica, but not new to Ning

This is fantastic. Christians, especially thought provoking Christians, need a place to come with the power of Ning on their side. I have been involved in another community in the coffee industry since they started their community several months ago. It is called the Barista Exchange. That website has already been written about by the Wall Street Journal, Time (I think) and a few other media outlets. So, Theologica, your next on the media circuit! :)

Thank you for that encouragement. I really needed it today. Sometimes I get accused of being too intellectual so its good to know when it actually motivates someone to think more deeply about their faith.

Wilson, for some sovereign reason, I happen to live in the safest of all places in India ... Chennai (Tamil Nadu). I do not experientially know what is persecution, except for some verbal jabs from folk I try and dialog with. And it was heart-wrenching to see (via video the other day in our office) our own brothers and sisters suffer so much. And all because of mis-understandings, not only about Christianity, but about Hinduism. As you may know, Hinduism is not the original religion of India. It came here from Babylon. These un-educated radical Hindus, not knowing history, go about creating such misery for these precious children of God. However, it wa so touching to see these persecuted Christians (in the video) to worship our Lord Jesus amidst the rubble of their church buildings and homes. Please continue to pray for India. This great land is in the clutches of ignorance, which is a good soil for satanic 'silent' activities.

I am not sure Wilson. I really don't keep up with these things. We have quite a few moderators who do though. You can report it as an issue by going to the "report issue" at the bottom of the page on Theologica. Thanks so much for bringing this up my friend. Have a great weekend.

Ahh Bro. Jacob, you need to post those prayer request. They are very serious. Sometimes we (in the USA) forget how great we have it here on our shores.
Are you in the "Prayer Group" here on Theologica? I would hope that you would be. That link is to a topic I posted about the N.Y.C Noon Prayer Meeting that took place back in the late 1850's. We need that kind of prayer going on. Read the summary on Amazon. If you don't own the book the summary will get to your soul.
Since many people don't own the book, I may start doing "summaries" of chapters. Maybe it will start something big.

Wilson, how I wish I could attend DTS. In fact, I desire to do a course on apologetics there. Most of my fav authors are from DTS, and I am not that surprised you found me out. Bock, Wallace, Swindoll, Ramesh Richard, Zuck, Pentecost, are the ones who 'teach' me through their writings. However, I as soon as I saw your comment, I told my wife that you must really smart to spot my interests!

And Wilson, I discovered about 'vertical' grace through Chuck's book on grace. Everytime I get a chance, I encourage fellow-Christians to get hold a copy, if they still haven't.

Thanks for your encouraging comment. And you have a great day!
