As I understand prooftexting it is taking a certain text or verse and using it to prove ones point. But that is why there is more then one witness in the Bible. Having more then only one witness makes for a stronger case, So, we have Matthew, Mark a…

That is why the Bible is so valuable. It not only proves without a reasonable doubt but also provides physical proof and witnesses so that none have an excuse. Which would be anti-apologetic. In other words their attempts to disprove the Bible are a…

In order to convince or persuade someone you need some kind of proof. Whether it be reasonable or physical. I don't think emotional evidence holds to much weight. Like if I tried to persuade someone of something by saying "it feels right" or trying…

I went that route because if you continue reading Romans 5 then I believe it's the route that Paul was going.

Why would God credit Abaham for his fath if it were God that gave it to him? God should them get the credit. It should be that God was credited for Abaham having faith. But no, Abraham was credited and made righteous because of his faith. God is cre…

So, the question then becomes: "does God give a person faith" in other words does God act on the person (his elect) and give them faith? They would not have faith unless God first acts on them to give it to them. I do not see that idea supported by…

It seems to me that the point is that it is not the sin that has spread but the death that has spread. It's the law that gives the knowledge of sin, without the law there is no sin. Without God's command not to eat of the tree there would be no sin…

I thought someone had already made the point, but after reviewing the thread I don't see the someone did. The point being: The man says to Jesus " Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire…

Ok jack, so what you are telling me is that the boy had a fallen angel inside of him and that the fallen angel was controling him and throwing him to the ground into fire and water as I guess in an effort to kill him, right? Perhaps he (the angel)…

Dr Mike: "Do you have an example of the Jews' later idolatry?" Hail Caesar! is what htey were forced to proclaim. Caesar was "GOD" and many of them fell for it, mostly out of fear for their lives.

Why do you think Jesus chose the "low lives" to be his disciples? it because the influence of the "doctors" and philosophers of his day had, as they thought, all the answers. Hail Caesar! was their cry. He went to the "low lives" because they had s…

Jesus didn't pick the well educated to be his disciples. He wasn't looking for the great "doctors" or philosophers of his day (which there were many) No he chose those who were looked upon as be "low lifes" or peasents. The poor, the humble, the mee…

You got to be kidding me! The Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Greeks and Romans all had influence on the Jews. It did not end during New Testament times. The Jews were ruled by the Romans who had a multitude of gods. And just as in old days the Jews…

So the disciples go to Jesus and say "Why could not we cast him out?". Why could you not cast HIM out? Him? you mean the Moon demon? because of your unbelief, that's why. Don't be taken by their nonsense.

John; I have no wish to insult you. I must say to you, privately, that I suspect that you "over-stated" your position, re: spiritual regeneration, at the resurrection. You've got yourself in a corner, and rather than admit you've made a mistake, you're raising smoke-screens and straw-men, thereby making your position, even worse.
Ask yourself: is this a position that I have held, for long time, or did I merely state something , that I don't rally believe, or haven't thought much about, to win an argument, and now am struck with it, because I can't admit that I made a mistake?
May I suggest to you, in love, that you admit, to yourself, and others, that you erred....before you dig yourself a deeper hole. I would wager that no-one on this site would agree with you, on THIS point. This is a doctrine that I, in forty-six years of bible study, teaching and discussions, have NEVER, before now, heard!
I'm sorry that I do not have the facility, with words, to put this in a suble, inoffensive way, but please remember that I have done so, in Love. Grace to you, Jack

John; Also, aren't the angels spirit beings without bodies? Jack

John; The Apostle Paul declared: "...for to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord..." So, Between the time of our physical death, and the resurrection/rapture, will we be "dis-embodied spirits", or will we have an intermediate (temporary) body? Some folks teach this. I'm not looking for an argument, but clarity. Jack, the geezer
