Herman, with love and respect:
1.) Your powerpoint does not present any convincing reasons for your viewpoint--it does not, in fact, even really present a coherent argument to follow. Half of it is a series of statements about Moses followed by Exodus 20:11, and the second half of it is a series of circles that appear to your audience to lack any rhyme, reason, or purpose.
2.) Your argument that the seven days of Genesis 1 are seven 12 hour visions delivered to Moses lacks any scriptural support whatsoever.
3.) Your continual refusal to explain, plainly in words, what it is that you are trying to communicate seems to me a clear sign that you doubt your own message.
In regards to your highly dogmatic views, I would encourage you to consider the following truths.
1.) The gospel that Jesus has died, been raised, and enthroned over the world as lord and king is not remotely dependent on an accurate interpretation of Genesis. This gospel can be proclaimed by both the YE creationist, the OE creationist, the evolutionary creationist, and the theistic evolutionist. How human beings came to be on the earth and how long it took for the world we see to develop or be created is completely and totally irrelevant to this fact.
2.) Dividing yourself from and condemning others over this belief is in reality a form of missing the point of what the Gospel is all about, as well as failing to practice the love and gentleness of Jesus in your discussions.
3.) Truth has nothing to fear. So, if your viewpoint is really true, you shouldn't be afraid to let people understand what it is you're trying to say, shouldn't be afraid to put it out there and let it be tested.
This clears things up nicely. Thank you.
Jason, I wish I'd known you were battling this flu strain. I could have recommended an over-the-counter remedy. But it seems you got over him yourself. The good news is, one encounter suffices to build up an immunity. Your days would be numbered otherwise.
