What Ever Happened to Frank?
I recently picked up a used copy of Wild At Heart. It was almost brand new.
When I opened the book I noticed that the jacket had been tucked to mark someone's place about thirty pages into the book. It was obvious that the rest of the book was unread.
Written on the front free end page was this:
"Frank,
May you find some peace and hope in reading this book. My love for you is stronger than the first time I felt love for you. We have weathered many storms and in time I hope your heart will know that Wayne is happy in heaven.
All my love,
Betty"

At first, my only thought was that Frank simply wasn't a reader. After all, that's not uncommon today.
Later on, I read the following note that the author shared with his readers(from his wife, Staci):
"Because you are a Braveheart, fighting for the hearts of so many people...and especially for mine. Thanks to you I know a freedom I never thought was possible."

Two men, two ladies, and two notes. Both notes intended to bless. We know that one did bless. It seems that the other did not. At least on the surface. After all, Frank did not finish the book. He got rid of it.
What did he do with Betty? Did he reject her, too?
What did he do with his grief over Wayne? I wonder if he ran from it.

I cannot help but wonder What Ever Happened to Frank?

It's sad, isn't it?
