So, what are you gonna be, OLD + 2? Got those orthopedic shoes ready to go? Got your walker standing by? Got your bifocals? You’re gonna be an awesome old lady. Mean, but awesome.
Char tnx for remembering my 75th birthday! My wife had to remind me, this afternoon.
Thank you also for your concern about my health, and your prayers. I haven't had to use my oxygen since Sunday night. I even drove down to the drugstore, Tuesday, without being hooked up. I did take the tank, just in case.
Two weeks ago, last night, I followed the promise in James 5:13. I know that prayer won't change God's plans, but then, I don't KNOW His plans, for me. I am feeling significantly better, altho one of the incisions from my July 9 Biopsy has not fully closed, yet, and my ribs still hurt. I still have a cough, but I've got my appetite back, and am gaining strength. PTL! All Blessings to you, sister. Jack, the Geezer
I appreciate your concern. If anything, I have a problem with dehydration. I've lost 35 pounds since January.
A few months ago, there were 4 Jack Merrills on my page. now, only the California Jack is still there. I have to wonder, tho, If folks know which Jack they are talking to. I might answer posts meant for him, and versa vasi.
I don't go to facebook unless someone has a msg for me.
Okay so this is going to be sooooooo late...but thanks for the happy birthday wishes! lol. I totally stopped using this once I started college. But I'm getting back into it now. And yes, I am well on my way to corrupting western Christendom.
Are you the Char Moore who has friended me, on facebook? If so, be aware that there is another Jack Merrill on my facebook page He's a Baptist from California, and I'm a Baptist in North Carolina. He has a family picture posted, but I'm still using the same ol' Geezer, bearded face.
How am I doing? I spend most of my time indoors, since the temp outside has been in the 90's or high 80's, and it wastes me to be out in it for a few minutes.
Still dragging an Oxygen hose wherever I go.
I had a lung biopst July, July 9, and am still healing from it. Worst part, it didn't tell them what kind of interstitial lung disease that I have, what causes it, or how to treat it. My Cardio-pulmonary Dr says I might last 6 months, or 2 years.
When I came out of the biopsy surgery (3 incisions, between the ribs) I was deaf.
Sinus fluid had built up in my ears, and stayed that way. My wife had to stand two feet in front of me, while I cupped my ears, to hear her. 5 weeks after surgery I went to ear doctor and he Poked holes in both ear-drums. they drained continually for about 6 days, then closed up again, and my hearing is about 80% as bad as before. I'm going back monday, and he will put tubes in both ears.
I'm not feeling badly, except sometimes I have coughing spells that wear me out!
I'm confident that the Lord is in full control, and I have accepted whatever He plans to do with me.
I remembered James 5:13ff, And , last Wed nite, I had the church elders lay hands on me, anoint with oil, prayer and confession. (most Baptists I know, don't do that) but, Not to have claimed it, would have been a lack of faith.
Blessings to you, sister. Jack
I have a concentrator that runs off house current. also, 6 taller tanks (2.5 hrs for me) and 10 smaller tanks, less than one hour. My home nurse says I must learn to consistantly "smell the floweres and blow out the candles" before I could switch to an on-demand unit.

Iz spektakular, no?
Mucho gracious!
Getting started is always difficult for me, which is why I hate interruptions or having to stop to eat...or wee or whatever.
That may have been TMI, I dunno.
